How-to: Change a Furnace Filter

Your furnace filter should ideally be changed every 3 months. To do this, simply pull the old filter out and place it in a plastic bag for disposal.

Before installing your new filter, take note of the airflow direction indicated on the filter. Your return air comes into the side of your furnace, so the air is flowing in that direction. Once you’ve confirmed the direction, just push the new filter all the way in.
