Do I qualify for the HST rebate?

Why is the Ontario New Housing Rebate subtracted from the total HST?

When you see the price of a new home, that number already has your New Housing Rebate government rebate baked in, meaning your builder passed the savings directly to you upfront, instead of making you wait for a cheque in the mail. Think of it like a store automatically applying a coupon at the register before you even ask. Nobody took anything from you; in fact, the opposite happened. You got tax savings without having to lift a finger.

Does the HST rebate change for homes with a base price over $1M?

For homes priced between $1M and $1.5M, purchasers are still eligible for the full HST rebate, up to a maximum of $130,000.
